Birthday Sparkle Kit Alternative cards

This Birthday Sparkle kit is a really great deal, if you change the tags into cards you end up with 12 cards. One for each month, go ahead customize your colors and have fun. Scroll down to watch the video, hope you enjoy.

The Birthday Sparkle kit is a great kit as is, but I wanted to step it up a little bit. Kits are a fun to customize and put your own style on them.  I made a shaker card, an easel card and turned the tags into cards.

First up is my favorite, the shaker card. I used our window sheets and dimensional strips with the new champagne sparkle dots.

I love to make easel cards. Start with an 8 1/2 x 11 inch of cardstock, score on the long side at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2. Turn the cardstock and cut at 4 1/4, now you have 2 card bases ready to go.
I used the Heartfelt Hexagon bundle to pop the card up with one of the adhesive backed hearts from the Bee Mine suite.
I think this is a happy card that is neutral enough for kids and adults. I changed this card up by leaving off the stamped lines of the balloon and adding twine. You could use the twine included in the kit or any color you may have. I used white embossing on the balloon but you could change that up and use any color of ink with clear embossing powder. I may have to try some red balloons. So many possibilities.
This is originally a tag in the kit and I don't use those very often. I added a background from the brushed gold cards and envelopes. I cut one of the card bases in half, you can also emboss this to add some more texture. I add some gold stars with the more shimmer dsp and one of my old favorite star border punch. I wish Stampin Up would have more border punches.
I hope you enjoy the video and if you haven't subscribed please do so. Have fun and get creative.
